I spent most of my weekend cleaning up the Lana Grossa yarn entries in the Ravelry database. People can enter new yarns if the yarn from their stash isn't in the database already, and a lot of them don't really search for it before they enter stuff.
So there are lots of duplicate entries, misspelled entries, and some batshit crazy entries where I have no idea what the hell people were thinking.
I hope we can get it all under control before Ravelry opens to the general public and problems like these grow exponentially. The whole point of Ravelry is to be this great organized cross-linked source of information about all things fibery, but it takes a lot of work.
