So, apparently turning 30 is something that should have a sudden and terrifying effect on me, at least according to the people who congratulated me today. I just can't seem to get either excited (yay, another decade is over) or depressed (oh my god, I'm so old) about this. There won't be anything special today, just a casual get-together with a few friends.

Of course in two years it'll be completely different. As a computer scientist, I'd rather celebrate my 32nd birthday with a big party than this one. :D

Knitting news: I cast on for the "Meridth's Little Lace" socks from "A Gathering of Lace" yesterday. I'm using Lana Grossa's Meilenweit Cotton in hot pink. Let's hope that the women's medium size is enough for my feet ... if it isn't, I'll give the socks to my mom.
